I read somewhere that the total number of mobile devices has exceeded the total population of mankind. I was really shocked. Also there is another statement saying still more than 50% of world population doesn’t own a mobile device, which means most of us have more than one device. Crazy right! Just think if everyone of us have a mobile in hand, then many industries would have a boom in sales, information can be passed in seconds or minutes, jobs would be filled within hours or days. Hope one day this happens.
In this blog, we are going to analyze Xiaomi Mi 5 – the company’s much awaited flagship.
Physically the phone seems to resemble samsung galaxy curved display devices. But the company claims the panel is made of glass, metal and ceramic.
This 4G LTE device comes with a 5.15 inches IPS LCD screen with Corning Concore glass protection (which is yet to be confirmed), 1080 x 1920 resolution and a pixel dentsity of ~428ppi. Physical dimensions of the device are 144.6 x 69.2 x 7.3 and the weight is ~130gms.
Mi 5 runs on Android M 6.0 with MIUI 7.0 on top.
The heart of this smartphone is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdagon 820 – dual core 2.15 Ghz Kryo & dual core 1.6 Ghz Kryo coupled with Adreno 530 GPU for other editions and 1.8Ghz Kryo & dual core 1.6 Ghz Kryo coupled with same Adreno 530 GPU for standard edition.
Mi 5 has 3GB/4GB of RAM and a massive 128GB of internal memory in pro editon devices and 32GB & 64GB of memory in standard edition devices. Memory is non-expandable as there is no memory card slot.
In the camera department this smartphone comes with 16MP (f/2.0) primary camera with phase detection auto-focus, OIS, dual tone led flash, and a 4MP – it may be 4UltraPixel (f/2.0) front camera.
The phone supports fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, bluetooth 4.2, GLONASS.
The non-removable battery compartment has a massive 3000mah Li-Ion battery with Quick Charge 3.0 via USB Type C reversible connector.
The phone will be available in 4 colors – black, white, gold and ceramic.
After a long delay Xiaomi has announced their latest flagship Mi 5. Phone has a new design, fast & powerful processors, improved cameras, a fingerprint sensor compared to the previous flagship Mi 4. Xiaomi seems to target high end customers and may add a higher price tag this time. Apart from that phone seems to have good specs and excellent build quality.
