Xiaomi Mi 4s – an upgrade to 4c & 4i

A warm welcome to my blog. Hope you are doing great.

Mobile devices help us in fulfilling most of our needs from the place wherever we are at. But the task of choosing one good device is the hardest thing.

In our last blog, we saw about the G5 – latest flagship from LG. Phone was unique in its look and feel and also had mesmerising dual primary cameras, fingerprint sensor, quick charge 3.0 and many other exciting features. After a much delay Xiaomi has come up with 2 devices: Mi 5 – the company’s flagship and Mi 4s – a budget device with powerful features.

Mi 4s – upgraded version of Mi 4c & Mi 4i is our topic in this blog

Physical overview:

This 4G LTE device comes with a 5 inches IPS LCD screen with Corning Concore glass protection (which is yet to be confirmed), 1080 x 1920 resolution and a pixel density of ~440ppi. Physical dimensions of the device are 139.3 x 70.8 x 7.8mm and the device weighs ~133gms.

Mi 4s

Mi 4s runs on Android M 6.0 with MIUI 7.0 on top.

The heart of this smartphone is powered by previous generation Qualcomm Snapdagon 808 coupled with adreno 418 GPU.

Mi 4s has 3GB of RAM and massive 64GB of internal memory which can be further expanded upto 128GB via 2nd sim slot which is a hybrid one.

In the camera department this smartphone comes with 13MP (f/2.0) primary camera with phase detection auto-focus, dual tone led flash, and a 5MP (f/2.0) front camera.

The phone supports fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, bluetooth 4.1, GLONASS.

The non-removable battery compartment has a massive 3260mah Li-Ion battery with Quick Charge 2.0 via USB Type C reversible connector.

The phone will be available in 4 colors – black, white, gold and pink.

We would have seen 4i and 4c last year. 4c was the upgraded version of 4i and now 4s seems to be the upgrade to 4c with fingerprint sensor, Android M, expandable memory and may be metallic built too. All the Mi devices seem to perform pretty descent and the company has really improved a lot since their first device way back in 2010/11. Processor should have been atleast 810 as 808 seems really old. Display, camera & battery back up are the key features of these Mi 4 series devices. I assume 4s also satisfies us in the same way.
